二本杉は兄弟杉とも言われ、樹齢840年を超える立派なものです。
幹と幹の間を抜けるように本殿に向かう石段がありますが、根っこの勢いで石段がガタガタになっているのも杉の生命力を感じられます。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 二本の杉本体だけで評価すれば日本有数の見応えのある木だと思います。それも2本きれいに並んでいるなんてとても貴重でしょう。
しかし、周りの環境があまりにも雑然としていて神社の境内も荒れています。過疎の集落にあって仕方ないかと思いますがもっと大事に保護して頂きたいと思います。
駐車場は無いですが、目の前の廃校の空地に止められました。
If you evaluate only the two cedars, I think it is one of the most spectacular trees in Japan. It would be very valuable to have two of them lined up neatly.
However, the surrounding environment is so cluttered that the shrine precincts are also rough. I think it can't be helped in a depopulated village, but I would like you to protect it more carefully.
There is no parking lot, but it was parked in a closed school vacant lot in front of me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 狭い道は避けたかったので南の193号線から入って2キロほど手前で車を停めてそこから歩いて訪れました。途中にもなかなか大きな木が幾らか立っていたり、津柳のケヤキがあったりして自然のたくましさに凄みを感じつつ。これほど大きいのに真っ直ぐ立っている姿が印象的でした。犬が何匹かウロウロしてるので注意かもしれません。
I wanted to avoid narrow roads, so I entered from South Route 193, parked my car about 2 km before, and walked from there. Some big trees are standing on the way, and there are zelkova trees of Tsuyanagi, so I feel the strength of nature. It was impressive to see him standing upright even though it was so big. You may be careful because some dogs are wandering around.
