It is known as a post town where Emperor Meiji stayed, but compared to major post towns such as Tsumago and Magome, there are few existing cultural properties, and there are Iwamura castle town and Taisho village nearby, and tourists are sparse. It is quiet. Since the number of Akechi Railways is small and the connection with JR is poor, it is better to take a walk using the waiting time.

This is where the atmosphere of Nakasendo continues.
I am scared when I take my child.
Because it is not good (^ _-)

The highlights are the Nakasendo that bends at six places, the main gate that remains at the site of the main camp, the well that provided water to the Japanese palace, and Shoya's house that was restored as the Hishiya Museum.

Gifu Prefecture designated historic site Oi-juku Honjin site
The 46th Oi-juku, which is the 69th station on the Nakayama road, has a main camp and a Waki-honjin, where daimyo and shogunate officials stayed.
The mother's house of the main camp was burnt down in 1947, but the area around the front gate is still unburned.
Oi-juku is one of the largest post stations on Nakasendo, and it seems that there were six boxes to prevent the invasion of enemies in the event of an emergency.
Currently, the main camp is a historic site designated by Gifu Prefecture, and the gate and garden remain.

Oi-juku Honjin trace. Although the site is the site of the main camp, the building does not exist, and the main gate, the dignified fence, and the key-shaped road are reminiscent of the early Edo period.

Visited Oi-juku for the first time in my life! It seems that it is a post town where Emperor Meiji stayed, and I feel the impression of it. I didn't think Ena City was pushing Nakasendo so far, so I was surprised in a good way! In front of the main team, it was very easy to understand on the explanation board and the box-shaped drawing! Above all, I felt it was amazing that the main team still lives!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's nice, you can find remnants of the Nakasendō here for sure. They explain some in English, too.
