★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 10年ほど前は定食屋・居酒屋なども多かったのですが、今はすっかり少なくなってしまいました。戦後に開通した南の大通りがメインストリートになってしまったので、衰退は必至だったのかもしれません。かつて店舗だった様な家々や、電柱の名前に「楽天地」と残っているのが、かろうじて昔を感じさせてくれます。
About 10 years ago, there were many set meal shops and izakaya, but now there are few. The south boulevard, which opened after the war, has become the main street, so the decline may have been inevitable. The houses that used to be stores and the fact that "Rakutenchi" remains in the name of the telephone pole barely makes us feel the old days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 名著「赤線跡を歩く」で「錦町楽天地は三業地だったところに戦時中、洲崎の業者が入り、進駐軍向けの接待所（RAA）を経てカフェー街に移行した」と紹介され、記録映画「赤線」では当時の様子が見られるようです。しかし今は普通の住宅街の中に数軒の飲み屋があるだけで、当然ですが、赤線地帯の面影は何もありません。
