★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 近くにこんな良い所がある事を知りませんでした。彼岸花は終わりかけだったので今度は是非満開の頃行って見ます。
I didn't know that there was such a good place nearby. The cluster amaryllis is almost over, so I'll definitely go there when it's in full bloom.

堂々公園に連なる堂々川に築かれた砂防堰堤（砂留）群。この辺りは花崗岩（真砂土）で，土石流などの災害が多く，山砂の流出や防災の為に江戸時代に大小16基が築造され，今では約50基が現存しています。日本最大級の6番砂留は高さ13ｍ幅56ｍもあります。また，その北側には，水と緑の調和した堂々公園があり，ハイキングコース・憩いの場として利用されています。
Sundome [National Registered Tangible Cultural Property]
A group of sabo dams (sand deposits) built on the Dōdō River that connects the Dōdō Park. This area is granite (mass sand) and there are many disasters such as debris flow. 16 large and small buildings were built during the Edo period to prevent mountain sand outflow and disaster prevention, and now there are about 50 existing. Japan's largest No. 6 sand retention is 13m high and 56m wide. On the north side, there is a magnificent park where water and green are in harmony, and it is used as a hiking trail and a place for relaxation.

壮観で雄大な眺めにビックリ ??‼ 1835年(天保6年)に築造され、国内最大級で、「堂々川砂留群」として「国の登録有形文化財」に指定されています。
西中条には、他に、五番砂留・鳶ヶ迫砂留、内広砂留が登録されています。 広島県内でも最古の「西中條村誌」「潼々谷餘滴」に記録されています。
（ホタルを楽しむことは喜ばしいことですが、他の学区の川からカワニナを捕獲して放流しているとの噂を耳にします。自然に蛍が増えているのであれば問題ありませんが、カワニナなどの捕獲が繰り返されているのであれば、ある意味で環境破壊につながると思います。
２０１７年１２月２日、「六番砂留構造図」の説明板を水洗いして汚れを落としました。(ジョウロ＆ブラシ) 少し見栄えが良くなりました。☺(o^－^o)
２０２０年７月，「堂々川ホタル同好会」の代表が中条や三谷のカワニナを物色している旨の投稿がありました。何故，他所の学区の川から捕獲するのか，何故，服部地区のように養殖しようとしないのか？ 自らの行為に矛盾を感じないのだろうか⁉️

In addition, Nishi-Nakajo is registered with No. 5 sand retention, Tobogasako sand retention, and Uchihiro sand retention. It is recorded in the oldest "Nishi-Nakajomura" and "Rosatsuya drip" in Hiroshima prefecture.
(I'm happy to enjoy fireflies, but I've heard rumors of capturing and releasing kawanaina from rivers in other school districts. If the number of fireflies is naturally increasing, it's okay. If the capture of is repeated, it will lead to environmental destruction in a sense.
On December 2, 2017, the explanation plate of the "No. 6 sand retention structure diagram" was washed with water to remove dirt. (Watering Can & Brush) It looks a little better. ☺(o^－^o)
In July 2020, there was a post stating that the representative of the "Dodogawa Firefly Club" was looking for Nakajo and Mitani's Kawaina. Why are you catching from the rivers of other school districts, and why are you not trying to cultivate like the Hattori area? Do you feel no contradiction in your actions ⁉️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 綺麗に組まれた石組みの砂止めは今も残る史跡としては必見。元禄辺りからの普請により設置されたものだとか。
9月中頃から彼岸花が見頃です。 歩いて登るのも自転車で登るのもそこそこキツい(斜度8～10%)ので、要注意です。
The beautifully constructed stone-framed sand stopper is a must-see as a historic site that still remains. It was installed by a general contract from around Genroku.
The cluster amaryllis is in full bloom from mid-September. It's difficult to climb on foot or by bicycle (inclination 8-10%), so be careful.
