市営北日東住宅の跡地。今では普通のマンションになっていますが、このマンションと隣接する公園は、もともと「軍艦アパート」と呼ばれた有名な集合住宅群の一つ「北日東住宅」があった場所です。大阪が最も華やかだった関市長の時代に、当時の模範的な住宅モデルとして作られた集合住宅で、1930年（昭和5年）下寺住宅、1932年（昭和7年）北日東住宅、1933年（昭和8年）南日東住宅と3棟のRC改良住宅が作られました。いずれもガスコンロ、上下水道、水洗トイレ、ダストシュートが完備され、丸窓などのモダンなデザイン、店舗付きの住宅を含むという現代でも通用するような設計だったそうです。その後、ベランダや中庭に部屋を増築する家が相次ぎ、取り壊し直前にはその大阪らしいカオスな風景が有名になっていましたが、2001年南日東住宅、2002年北日東住宅、2006年下寺住宅と相次いで取り壊されています。
