安	安積野 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 地元の仏師荒嘉明が修行で全国を行脚したのち、生涯一仏一体を残そうと昭和6年、29歳の時に崖を削り磨崖仏の建立を開始したもの。周囲の冷笑をものともせず制作に励むが、未完のまま62歳で逝去してしまう。その後、製作は2代目保彦、3代目嘉道に引き継がれるもののいずれも未完のまま逝去してしまうが、現在は4代目の陽之輔に引き継いでいるという。ただ、元々崩れやすい地質に長年の風雨による劣化、東日本大震災の地震では左手部分が崩落するなど、完成はおろか維持することさえ中々困難なようだ。現在は、基金を設立しクラウドファンディングを募るなどして2030年には台座の完成までこぎつけたいとの事。ただ制作を続けてきた先代達は、完成を見ずみな早世だったのが少し気になる。今度こそは長年の制作が日の目を見み完成されることを望みたい。尚、百尺とあるが今のところは八十尺で、台座の完成をもって百尺になるとのことだ。 After Yoshiaki Ara, a local Buddhist priest, traveled all over the country for his training, he started the construction of the Makai Buddha by carving a cliff at the age of 29 in 1958 in an attempt to leave one Buddha in his lifetime.
