The donuts are made of flour and soy paste so taste is very light and healthy.
Every Japanese feel that this shop’s clerk isn’t friendly and I think so too as one of Japanese. However it isn’t problem for foreigners because they can’t speak English. They can’t bother you with saying something.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really like these donuts and have been coming here for over a year. Made from daizu and not overly sweet, they're really good.
But the attitude of the staff completely kills anything good about the taste of donuts and decided today it just wasn't worth going back. It literally put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.
Especially in Japan which is known for politeness and professionalism, the staff here are a stark contrast. Your mere presence of showing up to buy something is clearly unwelcomed. Looking at the reviews on here (mainly Japanese ones) everyone has same exact impression. Makes you wonder what gives.... It's really a pity.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best donuts in Tokyo! Nevermind all the complaints about the service. Stay focused, the Donuts are worth it. Personally, the complaints about bad service are absurd to me since I grew up in California and lived a number of years in Washington DC and NYC. You have no idea what bad service is!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought four of the donuts (Chocolate Crunch, Kinako, Belgian Choc and Berry berry) to-go and I'm not afraid to say I fell in love at first bite. I wasn't expecting much of the taste considering they're made of healthy ingredients like Soy Milk, so I made a premature assumption that it was at the cost of the taste. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how wrong I was! My fave was the Belgian Chocolate, the topping was just the right match for the dough. The size of Nico's donuts were smaller than standard donuts (something like the Malay's kuih keria) but the taste more than compensate for it. I consider it a little pricey but for the healthier choice of ingredients and the taste, the donuts were totally worth it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hole in the wall donut shop with the fryer in view directly behind the counter - it’s all made on site.
The donuts are delicious: soft, moist, not too sweet (definitely not sweet by US/UK standards), not greasy. The chocolate on mine was good but not exceptional - a bit pricey (180 ¥ plain, 250 ¥ chocolate), but probably to be expected given the area/artisan nature of the place.
About a dozen different kinds.
They also do a line in ‘donut rusks’ which I didn’t try, but look more or less like toasted bagel chips.
