★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 御祭神・御由緒とも不詳です。根渡神社は県内では大子町にありますが少々遠し。市内の手越には鬼渡神社がありますね。何々が渡ってきたという言い伝えが社名の由来となる場合が多いように思われますが，当社がそうなのかはまったく分かりません。青々とした稲穂輝くこの地，民家脇の鳥居の先の石段を樹木のアーチの下登っておくと，変わった形の常夜燈・・・いや，真ん中が崩れてしまって，上の屋根だけ柱に乗せていると考えるべきでしょうか。その先に覆屋の中に祠が二柱鎮座していらっしゃいました。
