この地に旭小学校があり賀実剛健な校風で世に知られていたが、溝口小学校との統合により閉校した。
ここにその沿革を記す。
明治6年8月2日庄村小学校と称し荘光普院にて開校。
明治23年7月17日、旭尋常小学校と改称しこの地に移転。
明治40年4月高等科を設け旭尋常高等小学校。
昭和6年10月2日旭、溝口両村合併により昭和7年旭尋常小学校。
昭和16年4月旭国民学校。
昭和32年4月旭小学校と校名幾度か変遷し昭和42年4月学校統合により溝口小学校旭校舎となり昭和44年3月閉校。

 Asahi Elementary School
There was Asahi Elementary School in this area, and it was known to the world for its strong school style, but it closed due to the integration with Mizoguchi Elementary School.
The history is described here.
Opened at Shokofuin, which was called Shomura Elementary School on August 2, 1868.
Renamed to Asahi Jinjo Elementary School on July 17, 1897, and moved to this area.
Asahihiro Regular High School established in April 1890.
October 2, 1969 Asahi and Mizoguchi merged to become Asahi Jinjo Elementary School in 1952.
April 1965 Asahi National School.
In April 1957, the name of Asahi Elementary School was changed several times, and in April 1942, the school was merged to become Asahi School of Mizoguchi Elementary School, which closed in March 1969.
