★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 県道の南(参道入口)から入り、降りた所の先にある神社。
現在は弁財天とは一目では判らない。
元々はかなり有名だったらしく、江戸時代には芸能、水商売の神として崇められ、現在は水田となった池の中島に社が在り、江戸からの寄進で橋も架けられ、旧暦二月二十五日の祭には参道に市も立った。
そして船橋、東金、木更津からも参拝客が居たとの事。又、生きた蝮を供えたともある。(さらしな風土記他より)
社は恐らく中心の中島が田圃に整備された時に北側の端に移転された様子。少々ぬかるむので参拝には御注意。
杉の鳥居は少々珍しいが、中島に生えていた杉との事。
敷地の脇の水路向うに弁財天に付物の厳島神社の祠も残る。
現在は農道として使用される参道の入口には、昭和後期迄は赤い鳥居が在ったそうだが痕跡含めそれらしき物は見られなかった。道標のみ半ば埋没して残る。

The company probably moved to the northern end when the central Nakajima was set up in the rice fields. Be careful when worshiping as it is a little muddy.
The torii gate of Sugi is a little rare, but it is the Sugi that grew on Nakajima.
The shrine of Itsukushima Shrine, which is attached to Benzaiten, remains across the waterway beside the site.
It seems that there was a red torii gate at the entrance of the approach, which is now used as a farm road, until the latter half of the Showa period, but no such thing was seen, including traces. Only the signpost is half buried and remains.
