This is a great chance to see all of the care that goes into producing each fruit and how much of a difference it makes in taste. It's hard to go back to regular fruit after having tasted anything from this orchard! It is a family business where each family member is involved in bringing about the best product and experience. Kazu, the main contact man, is fluent in both English and Japanese. He keeps his phone on him at all times and is quick to arrange visits. Give him a call!
S	S Chang on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Volunteered for a week at Nakagomi Orchard and it was an amazing experience for a city-girl like me. The host, Kazu-san was very hospitable, making sure we are well-fed and comfortable at all times. We had plenty of peaches, plums and cherries to eat to our heart's content as well as delicious home-cooked Japanese food prepared specially by Kazu-san and Yoko-san. Lots of tasks to do around the farm but achievable for someone who is not used to physical work. Definitely a good opportunity to experience Japanese culture, environment and food!

If you work hard and keep the dorm tidy Kazu will provide you with a comfy place to sleep, amazing scenery and more to eat than you could ever finish. Fruit fresh from the farm is amazing, lunches in sight of Fuji are a memory I'll treasure and Yoko-san's cooked dinners are always great. The farm's also in an excellent location for activities when you have a day off - hiking, visiting Fuji, a whiskey distillery and more. I'll miss the kittens so hopefully I'll be back to work again in the future!

Kazu-san, one of the owners, speaks English well and will be more than happy to show you around his orchards. Depending on the time of year you will have the opportunity to pick a wide variety of fruits including peaches, cherries, pears, kiwi, persimmons, grapes and more. If you are interested, and up for an adventure, you could stay and volunteer on the farm as we did last December. You will learn a lot, get to experience authentic Japanese life and will always be well-fed! Highly recommended! Thanks Kazu!

The farm works I did were fruits picking, weeding, trimming, packing, and putting down the silver sheet. Human efforts are much needed to produce high quality fruits. Kazusan talked about the farming knowledge as he was guiding me to do the farm work. I tried many sweet and juicy peaches during my stay! Besides, Yokosan cooked delicious dinner for the volunteers! The staffs in the orchard are friendly and willing to chat! A big thanks to Takasan, Marysan, Kennichisan, Kensan, Kazusan and Yokosan! I'm appreciated that I was given a chance to experience my very first farming in Nakagomi Orchard!

Their fruit are so wonderful and delicious. It was really an enjoyable experience to enjoy such high quality of fruit at Nakagomi Orchard. Fresh air, friendly staffs of the orchard and beautiful fresh fruit on the trees that I will come back again for sure.
