★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They tried to be helpful, but the truth is they’re not equipped to solve anything other than easy, basic problems. If you have a visa question and you don’t want them to send your way to a ‘visa mill’ language school, hire a reputable lawyer would save you a ton of time. Their ‘visa specialist’ was much less than helpful or knowledgeable. This place has never offered any real help for us or anyone we know in Nagoya.
For anyone who wants to know more, the ‘visa specialist’ started mumbling unhappily as soon as he realized we understood what he was saying impatiently in Japanese completely. He barely knew anything about different types of visa besides a language school student visa. It’s questionable he even went to law school.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Nagoya International Center is an indispensable tool for people just moving to Japan and even Nagoya. They are incredibly helpful and if they can't do something, they will try to get you in touch with someone that can.
The library has a great selection of books that keeps growing due to donations. They also offer Japanese lessons from absolute beginner to understanding the nuances of working in Japanese company and the language that goes along with it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a multi-story building with many government and private businesses inside. There is a Family Mart on the B1 level. The most noteworthy aspect is you can access the subway through the bottom level.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It has a really nice library with a big collection of English books and other books in many languages. There's also a lot of books for studying Japanese and a place for meeting and study groups where you can even eat and drink. It also has free WiFi available, although it's not very good. There's a lot of services they provide for foreigners, like Japanese class or legal advise, all the services are free and the staff working there is very nice and speaks many languages

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not quite what we were expecting. They do have a nice international library and there is a small but cute kids section with a couple climbing toys and a kids-size table and chairs. There are LOTS of languages represented and plenty of books in English. It was a welcome treat for my young kids who haven’t learned Japanese yet. The library is on the 3rd floor and the tourist information help is right across the hall. All very friendly.
