川崎市上下水道局の再構築事業の一環として、2016年4月から新しい上水道設備が稼働しています。活性炭接触池(せっしょくち)が新設され、特に気温が高い時の臭いの除去能力が改善しました。国内最大級の活性炭投入装置 カーボジェットの２基の巨大なホッパー（下部に漏斗形の出口があるタンク）が目立ちます。
2017年6月から一般の見学も受け入れています。午前・午後、それぞれ40名程度です。予約して申込書を提出する必要があります。個人での見学も可能。
浄水場は標高80m程の高台にあり、川崎全体に向けて重力で水が流れ落ちる力を利用して送水しています。古い施設なのにエコです。（必要なところではポンプを使っていますが、基本的には自然流下）
東側に隣接して東京都水道局の長沢浄水場があります。川崎市上下水道局の長沢浄水場とは独立の施設ですが、川崎市の設備で作った水道水も一部融通しているようです。 東京都向けの浄水は、多摩川で小田急線と並んでいる多摩水道橋(たますいどうばし)の下部を通る太い送水管を経由して「川向こう」に届けられています。

As part of the reconstruction project of the Kawasaki City Waterworks Bureau, a new water supply facility has been in operation since April 2016. An activated carbon contact pond has been newly established, improving the ability to remove odors, especially when the temperature is high. Two huge hoppers (tanks with a funnel-shaped outlet at the bottom) of Carbojet, one of the largest activated carbon injection devices in Japan, stand out.
General tours have been accepted since June 2017. There are about 40 people each in the morning and afternoon. You need to make a reservation and submit the application form. Individual tours are also possible.
The water purification plant is located on a hill at an altitude of about 80 m, and water is sent to the entire Kawasaki area using the force of gravity. Although it is an old facility, it is eco-friendly. (I use a pump where necessary, but basically it flows naturally)
Adjacent to the east side is the Nagasawa Water Purification Plant of the Tokyo Metropolitan Waterworks Bureau. It is a facility independent of the Nagasawa Water Purification Plant of the Kawasaki City Waterworks and Sewerage Bureau, but it seems that some of the tap water produced by the facilities of Kawasaki City is also accommodated. Purified water for Tokyo is delivered to "the other side of the river" via a thick water pipe that runs under the Tama Suidobashi, which is lined up with the Odakyu Line on the Tama River.
