You may barely know the shape of the Kuruwa. Looking at the parts that seem to be earthworks and Horikiri, it feels like a castle ruin. There is a stone monument. You can get the castle stamp at Fumonji Temple in Toyohashi at the foot of the mountain. It's quite steep, with trees on the top and no view.

There is a mountain trail on the site where a steel tower stands with a dawn and passes by it.

The remains are easier to understand in the western Kuruwa. There is a castle toe monument on the eastern Kuruwa, but there is no highlight because the remains have been destroyed by the steel tower.

Overall, I really enjoyed it! There are few people and it is a good exercise. Recommended as a forest bath! There are trees around the ruins of the castle, so it is not suitable for enjoying the scenery. Also, since there is no information board etc., it is a memorandum from here. Be careful of passing each other as the road near Fumonji Temple gradually narrows! There is a gentle paved uphill from the parking lot to Fumonji Temple. Go through the Niomon gate and buy the castle stamp at Fumonji Temple. Cross the red bridge on the left and climb to the main hall. Climb the mountain trail on the right side of Benten-do (third) on the right side of the main hall. From here, the feeling of climbing suddenly increases. After climbing for a while, turn left at the site of Motodo (the road that divides into two hands) and climb. If you climb again, you will hit a crossroads, so turn left (the steepest climb) and walk for a few minutes to see the tower. The area around the tower is the remains of Honmaru.

On the other side of the ruins of Motodo, follow the road on the left and you will see the NHK steel tower, which is the site of Funagata Yamashiro. The road was well maintained.

A castle built by Imagawa's military commander, Matasaburo Tame, from 1490 to 1500. Horikiri remains around the summit, and the mountain trail crosses Horikiri, so it is easy to understand. The altitude is 276m. It would have been difficult to build a castle in such a place, and it would have been even more difficult to stay and protect it ...

It was a so-called border castle, and it was also a transportation hub that restrained the Kamakura Highway. Against this background, I met the grief of the fallen castle several times during the battle between Imagawa, Tokugawa, and Takeda, and at that time, Fumonji, a mountain temple on the southeastern slope of the castle, was also destroyed by fire. The remains of the earthworks and the Horikiri still remain, and I was able to think about it at that time.
