Yachiyo City Folk Museum is located in a quiet residential area just off National Highway 16. The site of the former Murakami Elementary School. There are still monuments from elementary school. It is free of charge. Although it is free, the exhibits are very substantial and you can learn about the ancient history of Yachiyo City. It is vacant and you can enjoy it slowly. (Lol) Around Yachiyo City in the Edo period, there was Inba-numa, which was like a retarding basin when the Tone River was flooded, and there was no river to flow out, so once the water level increased, it was difficult to pull it out and the whole area was a low-lying wetland. It was a remote area where the people who lived in it were sparse. Therefore, if this water is dropped directly into Tokyo Bay to dry the land, flood damage can be prevented and development can be achieved, and water flow construction has been attempted many times. It was planned three times during the Edo period, two of which were privately funded by the Shogunate, and the last one was a public project under the initiative of the Shogunate, in which construction was assigned to daimyo nationwide. And at this time, "the guy" appeared. At the museum, he achieved the feat (outrage?) Of restoring the "guy" based on the description in the survey report. The feature that the whole body is black, the face is similar to a monkey and the nose is low is captured wonderfully. It seems that he sometimes got out of the water and stood by the river. As I read the explanation, is the real thing as long as 4.8 meters? Twelve people, including two samurai, died instantly after being attacked by this guy, and three others were seriously injured! Isn't it a ferocious and dangerous guy! .. I was about to be deceived by a charming face. In my favorite book, Shigeru Mizuki's "Nippon Yokai Taizen" (laughs), there are not many people with high fighting ability that can kill 12 people instantly with a physical attack, and it is definitely the worst level. If you name it Yachiyo's "Yatchi", the most deadly monster officially recognized by the Shogunate, and appoint it as an unofficial character in Yachiyo City like "Funassyi", people will not flood the museum from all over the country. Is it? However, it may be enthusiasts who are different from the customer base that the museum expects. (Lol)

It is a free museum where you can learn about the history of Yachiyo. It is a time to experience the history of Shinkawa, the bustle of the Narita Highway, and the flora and fauna. It is a place where you can learn a lot, such as the origin of the housing complex. I am happy because the parking lot is also free

Although the land and buildings are excellent, there are few exhibits and you can go around all in about 15 minutes. On the day I visited, there were no other guests, and it was just a waste of maintenance costs and taxes, so I feel that even a small number of exhibits should be relocated to a nearby library and the building should be sold. It was in a residential area on the west side of Route 16. Although it is small, the architecture is solid, and it is surprising that the permanent exhibition has detailed explanations and that it is free. I also understood the origin of the itabi and Koshinto in the old village of Tsuji. The archaeological culture related to the special project, Holocene glacial retreat, has been understood in connection with the changes in Imba-numa and temples and shrines.
