桑島眼科院が始まりで建物が使われなくなってからも
地元の国民が保存活動のおかげで生き残った。生き残って良かったね。
We are a two-story wooden Western-style building constructed in Japan in 1927.
Even after the Kuwashima Ophthalmology Institute began and the building was no longer used
Local people survived thanks to conservation efforts. It was good to survive.

昭和2年に擬洋風建築の粋を集めて竣工した桑島眼科医院。初代院長である桑島五郎が洋行を取りやめてまで建築した。ゴシック建築の名残の棟飾りやドーマーウインドウ、石造りに似せた洗い出しの外壁などに特徴がある。市有形文化財に指定されている。

Kuwashima Memorial Museum
The Kuwashima Eye Clinic was completed in 1952 by collecting the best of Western-style architecture. The first director, Goro Kuwashima, built the building even after he left the country. It is characterized by vestiges of Gothic architecture, dormer windows, and exposed exterior walls resembling stone. It is designated as a city tangible cultural property.
