Staff was aloof, they do not tell you the cover fee up front of 1600 yen. Drinks are OK. They are not helpful at all, especially if you don't speak Japanese. Definitely don't recommend coming here.

A smile from the staff is probably the most expensive thing in the bar. And what made it worse was the bartender gossiping with the customers about another customer when the latter went to the washroom thinking we don't understand Japanese. Horrible experience and I will never visit again. Mori Takao san was not present that day and I think his bartenders are simply ruining the reputation he has built. If I could give a zero star I would.

Watching him make cocktails is priceless and a must experience for anyone visiting bars in Tokyo. Mori is a legend who has dedicated decades to this trade; there’s even a special batch of Havana Club dedicated to him in acknowledgement of his Martini. He is supported by a team of 3 to 4 other bartenders.

To our huge disappointment the drinks were mediocre and overall there was zero atmosphere. Perhaps we were early, but nothing I experienced warranted for the 80$ bill for 2 drinks we had. If you're looking for creative mixology, this is not your place. If you're looking for classical cocktails, you're better off at Lupin a couple blocks away. There the quality is impeccable (for half the price). This place was our only experience of getting ripped off during 2 weeks across Japan.

M	Max Stanton on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mori Bar is an experience, something I would say is mandatory if you're spending more than a few days in Tokyo. Yes, it is expensive. Yes, it is hard to find. Yes, there is a hefty seating charge. And yes, it is all highly worth it. You do not come to Mori Bar for a cheap drink, and this is Tokyo; if $30+ for a cocktail makes you squirm, you're in the wrong city. You come to Mori Bar to experience a traditional classic; it's got the feel of someones living room, with 50 year old magazines piled in corners, the thick smell of cigarettes or cigars, and low ceilings. But the staff is wonderful, and if you're lucky enough, the man himself will grace you with his presence and mix you up a rum martini, which truly is special. I'm not a fan of rum, and in a martini none the less, but I am now a believer and found the price easy to swallow. You need to be into cocktails, you need to be into nuance; if you drink well liquor and like 2 for 1 specials, do not come here. If you want a cocktail made by someone with 70+ years of experience, and think you can tell the difference, that is a reason to visit. Mori Bar is a must every time we are in Ginza. Their other drinks are great as well, especially the classics. The mojitos seem to be the local's drink of choice there, and they do not disappoint. Please be respectful of this gem.
