★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 石碑と石灯篭と人魚伝説を説明する案内看板があります。なぜか人魚伝説には人魚は出てきません。ここから海は見えます。

通りから駐車場へ入るところに看板があるものの見過ごしがち
わかりづらい
駐車場はさほど広くない
近隣で家畜を飼っているのか？肥やしの臭いがきつく、居てもたってもいられない

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 『鵜の浜』で『人魚像』を撮影したので、少し足を延ばして『人魚伝説の碑』まで。
道路沿いの看板に従い曲がった細い道の先、数台駐車可能な駐車場が在り、すぐ目の前に『人魚伝説の碑』が在ります。
読んでみると『佐渡島』から夜な夜な渡ってくる女性との不倫がテーマになっています。一言も人魚と書かれていません。
実際問題『佐渡島・小木港～直江津港』78kmを現代の高速フェリー（あかね丸・巡航速度30ノット・1ノット＝1.86km/ｈ）でも1時間40分。
女性の細腕では海を渡る事すら不可能でしょうからやっぱり『人魚？』
『ろうそくと人魚』の作者『小川未明』さん出生の地とも在りました。
内容をすっかり忘れてましたので慌ててググってみますと………
『人魚』より恐ろしいのは『人間』ですね。
