★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2020年10月現在、地元出身のミュージシャン大滝詠一さんに関する展示コーナーが開設されています。自宅兼スタジオがあった東京都西多摩郡瑞穂町郷土資料館で不定期に開催される大滝さんイベント展示品ほどマニア度は高くない代わりに、一般の音楽雑誌やネット記事ではあまり触れられない、上京前の経歴を詳述した年譜が目をひきます。「君は天然色」発車メロディー採用記念として松本隆さんから贈られたお花は撤去されていました。
開館時間は9時から17時までですが、16時45分には芳名録などを片付けて閉館準備に入るみたいです。お手洗いはプラザの外、駅コンコースにあります。コンコースには1993年放送の大河ドラマ「炎立つ」に出演された、渡辺謙さんや渡瀬恒彦さんなどの手形が展示されています。添えられている放送当時の写真はさすがに色あせていました。
水沢江刺は「ただ新幹線の駅があるだけ」（失礼）の場所で、えさし藤原の郷など周辺の観光施設への公共アクセス手段がほとんどありません。地元の方は車を使うから何ら問題ないのでしょうが、遠くからの客は駅を見るだけで十分観光になります。
 As of October 2020, an exhibition corner has been opened for local musician Eiichi Otaki. Mr. Otaki, who is held irregularly at the Mizuho-cho, Nishitama-gun, Tokyo, where his home and studio were located, is not as enthusiastic as the exhibits, but he is not often mentioned in general music magazines and online articles. The chronology detailing his career is eye-catching. The flowers given by Takashi Matsumoto to commemorate the adoption of the departure melody of "Kimi wa Natural Color" have been removed.
The opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00, but at 16:45, it seems that we will clean up the good name record and prepare for closing. Restrooms are located outside the plaza, in the station concourse. In the concourse, the handprints of Ken Watanabe and Tsunehiko Watase, who appeared in the 1993 TV drama "Burning", are on display. The attached photo at the time of broadcasting was really faded.
Mizusawa-Esashi is a place where "there is only a Shinkansen station" (excuse me), and there is almost no public access to nearby tourist facilities such as Esashi Fujiwara no Sato. Local people use a car, so there should be no problem, but for visitors from afar, just looking at the station is enough for sightseeing.
