★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 愛宕橋のたもと、愛宕山下の遊水池から流れ出る水流に架かる小橋を渡ると、右手に石の鳥居があり、小祠が三基祀られている。そのうちの一つは、弁財天を祀った祠である。左手に進んで崖上に抜ける道を横切って奥に入ると、御嶽神社を勧進した小祠が、鎮座している。その周りには、御嶽講、大山神楽奏上記念などの三基の石碑が建っている。

大口真神とは狼のことで、その昔日本武尊（ヤマトタケルノミコト）が東征の際に、山中に現れた邪神のため身動きがとれず困っていた時に、狼が現れ無事に尊を導いたという伝説に由来します。
以来大口真神は魔除け、災難盗難除けとして御嶽講の人々に崇められてきました。
この社は江戸時代にこの村の御嶽講の人々が建てたものです・・・・・・と説明書きがありました。
