★ ★ ★ ★ ★ やさしい名を持つ姫街道は、東海の見付けまたは浜松から、気賀・三ヶ日の浜名湖北岸を通り、本坂峠を越え豊川・御油までの東海道脇往還61.5kmである。
正式名は、県境にある本坂峠を越えることから本坂通（本坂道）といわれる。
浜名湖の今切の渡しや新居の関所を避ける人々で一時期かなりの賑わいをみせたこともある。
この街道は歴史的にも古く、万葉集の東歌にも詠まれている。沿道の人々を驚かせた通行の例としては、亨保３年（1718年）8大将軍吉宗の実母浄円院のの通行や亨保14年（1729年）、案南国（現在のベトナム）から将軍への献上品として、像の通行があがられ夢とロマンの街道でもある。
平成８年文化庁から「歴史の道百選」に選定された。

Hime Kaido, which has a friendly name, is 61.5km from Tokai or Hamamatsu, along the north coast of Lake Hamana, Kiga and Mikkabi, to the Tokaido side of Tokaido and Goyu.
The official name is called Honzaka-dori (Honzaka-dori) because it crosses Honsaka Pass on the prefectural border.
There was a time when the people of Hamana Lake passed away, and people avoiding the new gates were very busy for a while.
This highway is historically old and is also enshrined in the Toyo of Manyoshu. Examples of traffic that surprised the people along the road are the passages of the eight major shoguns Yoshimune's real mother Jyoen-in in 1718, and in 1729, Shoubo 14 As a dedication to the generals, the statues are passed and the road of dreams and romance.
In 1996, it was selected by the Agency for Cultural Affairs as one of the “100 Best Paths for History”.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 三ヶ日から嵩山まで2万歩歩きました。本坂峠前後はなかなかの山道、歩き応えたっぷり。
I walked 20,000 steps from Mikkabi to Takayama. Before and after the Honsaka Pass, there are quite a few mountain roads, and there are plenty of walks.

本坂峠から北へ登ると坊ヶ峰山頂。
南へ進めば湖西連峰。
西へ進めば姫街道嵩山宿。
東へ進めば姫街道三ヶ日宿。
とまぁどちらに進むかで色んなコースが選べるため
色んな種類（フォーマット）の看板が乱立している。
峠だけあって風通りが良く夏でも涼しい。
まぁ、休憩する場所ないけど。
今は静岡県と愛知県の県境のため、
県境をまたいだ移動の自粛とか言われるとコース選びに苦労する。
渋々元来た道を戻る。

東三河と遠江北部を結ぶ旧街道。
こんなところを徳川吉宗の母やタイから来た象が江戸時代に通ったというから驚き。
愛知側、静岡側ともに遊歩道が整備されてはいるが状態はあまり良くない。「遊歩」気分で行くと痛い目に遭うので注意。
夏場は虫やヘビ、滅多に出ないが猪カモシカにも注意。
