なお、かつては女子校（日出女子学園中学校・日出女子学園高校）でしたが、現在は共学化されています。
私の世代だと、1987年の第１回全日本国民的美少女コンテストでグランプリとなった藤谷美紀さんが、国民的美少女コンテストで優勝した直後の中学２年生の秋に名古屋市の中学から日出女子学園中学に転校してきて、高校卒業まで、日出女子学園に在学したことを知っています。
ちなみに、2019年度から、日本大学の傘下に入り、学校名が「目黒日本大学中学・目黒日本大学高校」に改称されます。

これにより、日本大学付属高校に通信課程が設置される形となり、日本大学への内部進学の間口が広がりました。この学校には、通学制・通信制共に芸能コースがあるので、日本大学藝術学部への進学を希望する芸能人にとっては非常に魅力的に映ると思われます。
