★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 松代の扇状地に分布する大規模な合掌式石室古墳です。合掌式石室古墳は古墳の中の石室の屋根の部分を、屋根のような山形に組み合わせた古墳で、全国的にも貴重なものです。その中でも大規模なものはこの松代に3つ分布し、その中の一つです。この桑根井空塚は、墳丘がなく石室が露出しています。周りは後世に墓地として利用されてきたため改変されています。古墳の中には地蔵が設置されています。
この南西には桑根井鎧塚古墳群という古墳群が分布していたのですが、宅地造成により公園内に1基と隣に1基残されたもの以外湮滅しています。
It is a large-scale combined-handed stone chamber tomb distributed in the Matsushiro Fan. The Gazuru style stone chamber burial mound is an ancient tomb that combines the roof of the stone chamber in the burial mound with a roof-like yamagata, and is valuable throughout the country. Among them, large-scale ones are distributed in this Matsushiro, and it is one of them. There is no hill and the stone chamber is exposed in this Sonei Sorazuka. The surroundings have been altered as it has been used as a cemetery for later generations. Jizo is installed in the old burial mound.
In this southwestern area there is an ancient tomb group called Sonei Sasazuka tumulus group, but it has been eradicated except for the one left in the park and the one left next to it due to the construction of the residential area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 牧内集落の北方にある安山岩を積み上げた長野県北部に多い円墳の積石塚です。直径17m高さ3.4mぐらい。
玄室と羨道は完存し、外部の変形に対し内部の保存状況は完全です。
長野県北部に集中している合掌型天井石室です。横穴式タイプですが石室が四角でないので石室空間が狭く感じます。
玄室は、基礎ぶ四壁を厚い平石を据え置き、1.5m×1.5mぐらいの石を左右から中央に傾けた、屋根型の構造になっています。
全長は4.1m高さ2m幅1.8mぐらいです。
長野県指定史跡です。
付近に駐車場及びトイレはありません。
It is a product of Ishizuka, a circular tomb located in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture where the andesite rocks north of the Makiuchi settlement were stacked. Diameter 17 m Height 3.4 m.
The vestibule and the enku way complete, the internal preservation situation is perfect against external deformation.
It is a couple type ceiling stone room concentrated in the northern part of Nagano prefecture. Although it is a sideways hole type, I feel the stone room space is narrow because the stone room is not square.
The gable room has a roof-shaped structure, with a thick flat stone on the foundation budding four walls, tilting about 1.5 m × 1.5 m stone from the left and right to the center.
The total length is 4.1 m height 2 m width is about 1.8 m.
It is the designated historical site of Nagano prefecture.
There are no parking lots and restrooms nearby.
