★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting squid broth. If you have any squid allergies be aware. The location is between two buildings in a very small alleyway.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Down the side alley. No English menu. They don't speak English. You purchase tickets at the vending machine, then hand it to the cook. If you go, and don't speak Japanese, I suggest using Google translate to figure out the menu in advance. Otherwise, put money in, punch some buttons, and see what you get. Basically, top row is ramen, second row is cold noodles and broth in the bowl. Mine was delicious! Also, know how to eat ramen, and the associated expectations of eat and GTFO ??.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Truly a hidden gem
Not easy to find but with the photos on Google we easily found the alley way.
I went on a rainy weekday at 10:50 to line up. I was first to arrive but there were soon a few ppl waiting behind me. The restaurant will be full if you go at 11 as there are only 8 seats. However turnover is quick.
There's only a Japanese vending machine available with no English menu.
I tried the 900yen squid and chicken ramen. There's a 1100yen version with an egg and additional seaweed.
Soup was brilliant with squid taste but not too salty.
Chicken was tender, squid fresh and the texture of the ramen was great. This combination for ramen is quite unique and not sth you can get elsewhere.
Highly recommended and will def come again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious bowl of ramen.
I tried the special niboshi (dried sardines) bowl at 950¥, it come with good amount of pork and an egg. The soup is really well balanced.
Located at the end of very tiny corridor between two building. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the best Tsukemen in my life at Matoi! Actually I visited another Tsukemen restaurant in several times before, but now here becomes my favorite. My point is ,, its taste is not too salty like others, and I love their atmospher.
The seats are not enough, I remember there were onely 8~10 seats, also it was quite difficult to find this place. But please don't give up, finally you will got a reward as an wonderful soup and noodle! It seems their Ramen is also quite famous, I will try it next time. (Sorry I forgot to take a photo cause all dishes was great.. ate first before taking ..)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best ramen of all the Niboshi tastes I’ve ever eaten!!
Hard to find cuz the restaurant was just off the street.
A signboard might be the landmark.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Flavorful tsukemen broth without being too salty or overpowering. The taste is just right. It might be due to their speciality squid broth. Either way, very well done.
Portion size was good too! Very filling ?
