★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 満蔵寺に関係する昔話が、「いろりばた筑波野の昔話」という本の118ページに収録されています。昔、佐野子の久左衛門の家に居た「さくら川」というしこ名の田舎相撲の横綱が田んぼで汚れた馬を洗っていると、河童が馬の尻尾を引いて川に引きずり込もうとした。さくら川は河童を捕まえて村に連れて帰った。日頃から河童の被害に遭っていた村人は河童を殺してしまえと言ったが、満蔵寺の住職が反対した。河童は片腕を切り落とされたが、もう悪事はしないと住職に約束して逃がされたそうです。満蔵寺には切り落とされた河童の腕が保管されていたと書いてありますが、現在も保管されているのか気になります。
