Maiya is a chain supermarket (I know it's all over Tohoku but I don't know if they're all over Japan) and the stores are pretty large, spacious, with excellent service. The seafood selection is amazing, as you can imagine in a fishing city like Kamaishi; the bakery is wonderful; the produce is top-notch; and the prices are good. They also have a terrific selection of sake. :) I visit this Maiya every time I go to Kamaishi, and I am never disappointed.
