★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 校名は「そうよう」中学校であるが、所在地は米原市顔戸であり、合併等の前にも双葉村も双葉町も存在しない。不思議に思って調べてみた。昭和２４年に当時の坂田村と息長村の組合立中学校として設立された経緯から「双葉」中学校となったのであろう。のちに近江町立、米原市立と変わったが名称のみはそのまま残ったようである。要は「坂田村と息長村」の中学校ということである。
