★ ★ ★ ★ ★ MAHATMA Indian restaurant adjacent to Zama station on the Odakyu line is one of the BEST Indian curry establishments I have ever been to in Japan. The service and setting are extremely friendly. The food is delicious and a fantastic value. They boast a wide array of set menu & a la carte items, all of which provide excellent cost performance. My favorites are the Chennai curry set (two curries with naan and salad) and tandoori chicken. The dahl, mutton, and butter chicken curries are mouthwatering. The NAAN is some of the best I've had, and HUGE. Lastly, I often see groups of very satisfied Indian people here in the evening after work enjoying the food. Surely, they are are a good barometer of what real Indian curry is! This place is definitely a hidden gem.
