★ ★ ★ ★ ★ もうすぐ50年を迎えようとしている高円寺では老舗の中の老舗ライブハウス。高円寺という土地柄、垣根を越えて生きた音楽を提供するというコンセプトは変わらず、ミュージシャンの生々しい魂の音を間近で感じ取れる数少ないライブハウス。それがジロキチ。またスタッフの作る軽食の味付けは下町っ子も唸る人情の味。オススメ！

たまに来ますが、とにかく狭いのが難点ですね。(*_*;
その反面、メリットはミュージシャンとの距離が近いです。

ブルース・ジャズ他20～30代の頃(主に80年代)はよく通いました。
今では年一くらいになりましたが、昔と違って階段が改修され、手すりも付きました。
但し、今でも人気のバンドが出演して満員になると酸欠気味に……

I used to go to blues jazz and others when I was in my 20s and 30s (mainly in the 1980s).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 素敵な空間でした。車で行ったので、ドリンクは、ホット生姜を頼みました。カップの中にはスライス生姜が入っていました。ステージのペイントや間接照明がいい雰囲気。
It was a nice space. I went by car, so I ordered hot ginger for a drink. There was sliced ginger in the cup. Atmosphere that stage painting and indirect lighting are good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 全体的サウンドは聞きやすく低音が程好い感じ。グランドピアノも聞ける。PA側は照明がノイズを拾うのかジー－が聞こえてました。飲み物も食事もメニュー豊富でしたがカウンターが遠いと少し注文しづらい感じがある。カウンターから離れたPA側には缶ビールの自販機が設置されており小銭があれば小ぢんまりと呑める。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was wandering Koenji looking for its famed music scene and was unsuccessful for 30 minutes, until a kind Japanese soul took out her handphone and showed me the way to Jirokichi.
It's a very short walk away from Koenji Station. Take a right from the north exit and it's just a couple of alleys down.
Going in at 8+pm I was treated to some amazing Japanese bossa nova courtesy of Rika's Ukelele Swing. The bar was cosy and intimate, the venue and stage large enough to hold Rika and her band, the sound came across wonderfully, and the crowd (largely fans of Rika) was mostly young adults just enjoying the show. Entry cost 2,700 yen, drinks were between 600-1,000 yen. Looking at the brochures scattered around I figured this wasn't bar, but a live house - a legit music venue with different performances by established (and not so established) indie musicians every night.
Anyway no complaints from me, the recommended drinks were great, bartender and people amazingly friendly and welcoming to this non-Japanese person, music was fantastic. I spent about 3 hours there - it was the best night of my entire 11 days in JP.
Non-alcoholic options available as well as bar food. Note that smoking is allowed.
