★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For a westerner (Australian) the Life supermarkets are great. Although you won't be able to read the packaging and there are many traditional Japanese foods that we don't normally see, there is a good selection of foods that you will understand and many that are similar enough that you can take a chance on and then start expanding your food choices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to shop. Not really a lot of foreign food options, sometimes the cashiers are rude to me or dont ask if I need a bag. The 2nd floor has a lot of household goods pet food and clothes on it. Buy that stuff there first before you buy food. Best to bring a backpack or other carrying device with you if you dont have a car.
