This territory, designed like a small castle, is a defensive facility for the townspeople. Even now, when I stroll around Jinaicho, I find that the remnants of that time remain here and there.
河	河内旅人 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 遡る事1400年代、浄土真宗西本願寺派の蓮如上人建立の顕聖寺を核として二重の濠に土塀配置して畿内随一の環濠集落として発達、村内の道は碁盤の目の様に配置され今現在も建物など景観に配慮されて残っています、顕聖寺は西本願寺の連枝の格式をもち、本山門主に数名輩出した由緒有る歴史を持っています。現在も所どころに掘りが残り往時を偲ばせています、又9月中頃には寺内町燈路まつりが行われ夜にもなると各家々前に手作り灯篭に灯がともり、許麻神社や顕聖寺付近には屋台や音楽ライブ等々の催しなど行われて沢山人が集い寺内町を盛り上げています。 Dating back to the 1400s, the Kenjoji Temple, which was built by the Renjo Jojin sect of the Jodo Shinshu Nishi Honganji School, was placed as a core on a double moat and developed as a ring moat village in the Kinai region.
