★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very peaceful and pleasant cafe with beautiful surroundings taking you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We visited after a long rainy day around the temples and bamboo groves of Kyoto. The hostess was amazing and made us feel like visitors to a home rather than customers in a cafe. The chocolate was just right in texture, taste and even down to the cool serving temperature. The cake was also really nicely presented. My first ever review, but for the level of service and memories, I just had to leave one for everyone else to know about how good this place is.

From the outstanding quality of the chocolate to the friendly customer service, everything was beautiful and welcoming.
The store also offers take away services! the packaging by the chef is very thorough!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Heaven on Earth! I stumbled into Nama as it is down the street from traveler friendly Yoga Studio Bindhu. The old house machiya experience that is "recreated" and Disneyfied up by so many other establishments exists in earnest at Nama. It is place of peace, quiet and tranquility. Sherry is a consummate hostess and Kyoto travel adviser , not to mention mischievous sylph. The chocolates are divine and to be savored. The menu simplicity itself. The whole place is a balm, When I returned to purchase a gift certificate it was custom created on rice paper in brush as I sipped a perfect espresso. Go when you have the time to sit back and let the place take you.
