明日香に何度も来ているが、ここは知らなかった。
とても神秘的です。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 都塚古墳を見学していて「くつな石」の存在を知ったのは案内板を見たからでヘビ石とはどんな石なのかとへびの嫌いな自分が逆に興味を覚え行く気になった。都塚古墳から1キロ山を上って行くと小川が表れ橋が見えて来た。橋の入り口には鉄の柵の扉がありチェーンがかけられていたがイノシシが入らない為とわかり外して入ると5分位でくつな石があった。で、なぜくつな石と云うのかと由来書きを見ると、石工が採石にきてノミを入れたら割れめから赤い血が落ち傷ついたヘビが出て来たので驚き逃げ帰った石工はその夜から腹痛と高熱にうなされた挙げ句亡くなったとのこと。地元の人は祟りだと怯えその石を神宿る石としてお祀りしたとある。が、そんな怨霊話も、振り返りの帰り道の長閑な山里と、まさにこれど明日香村という景色と澄み切った空気に吹き飛び、来て良かった場所の1つになりました。

Then, when I looked at the origin of why it was called a tough stone, when the mason came to the quarry and put a chisel in it, red blood dropped from the crack and a snake with a wound came out, so the mason who fled back was surprised from that night He died of abdominal pain and high fever. It is said that the locals were frightened by the shrine and worshiped the stone as a god's shrine. However, such a gruesome story has become one of the good places to visit, as it blows away in the quiet mountain village on the way back and in the scenery of Asuka Village and the clear air.

２ヵ所の道標に従って入口鉄扉に到着。扉から細山道を３分にて鳥居に着。
尚、中間地点二差路を左へ小さな地蔵石が６つ並んでいる方へ。ここにも道標を設置して欲しい。間違って右へ行くと人家集落に到るので。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 磐座のようには見えませんが、水源地にまつわる信仰から生まれた話だと思います。ヘビは龍神であり水神で高龗神です。水源を神聖視する信仰でしょう。岩を叩いたら血が流れでてヘビが出てきたというのはよくある説話です。地元の方々が大切に守って下さっています。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 都塚古墳を見に来て近くのくつな石の看板を見てつい登って来た。正直都塚古墳で疲れてたけど面白そうだと思い登り始めた。緩やかな坂道だけど普段車ばかり使ってるから何度引き返そうか迷ったが、せっかくここまで来たのだからと思い、頑張ってトウチャコ。
成程、神秘的な感じで良かったが、石の名は”苦痛な石”が正解か？W

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 石を切り出そうとした石屋が祟りをうけて亡くなったという伝説は、棚田に水を供給する水源の川近くに妙な真似をする連中を近づけないようにするものと解釈しました。
今では砂防堰堤もあるくらいだし、地形が変わりかなねいことは避けたかったはずです。
真実はどうあれ今では地元の方によって大切にされているのが、案内板や整備された道などで伝わってきます
