★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 光西寺の境内にある大仏。御代の大仏の、「御代」は「みよ」と読みます。
銅像阿弥陀如来座像。市の有形文化財に指定されています。
すぐ近くを通る幹線道路の鹿島街道からも、そのお姿がちらりと見えます。
幹線道路沿いなので、目の前の通りは交通量が多いですが、このお寺自体は静かで歴史のあるお寺のようです。
あくまでも個人的な感想としては観光地という印象がないので、遠方からこちらの大仏を見に来る方は少ないのでは…と思いますが、銅製の大仏というのは珍しいとのことで、大仏がお好きな方にとっては人気があるのかなと思います。
禅宗系の臨済宗である光西寺は、創建が文禄４年（1595年）以前と言われる、歴史のあるお寺です。

Bronze statue of Amida Nyorai. It is designated as a tangible cultural property of the city.
You can also see its appearance from the Kashima highway, which is a highway running in the immediate vicinity.
Since it is along the main road, there is a lot of traffic on the street in front of you, but the temple itself seems to be a quiet and historic temple.
As a personal impression, I don't think it's a tourist spot, so I think that there are few people who come to see this great Buddha from a distance. However, it is rare that a big Buddha made of copper is used. I think it's popular with people who like it.
Kozaiji Temple, a Rinzai sect of the Zen sect, is a historical temple whose foundation is said to be before Bunroku 4 (1595).
