★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 淀川の水を飲料水にするため、大正3年に建設の日本有数の浄水場である。保健衛生上から自由に出入りはできないが、事前に申込めば見学できる。浄水場周辺の景観整備も進み、阪急京都線沿いの一部では、桜の通り抜けが楽しめる。
It is one of Japan's leading water purification plants built in 1918 to use the water of the Yodo River as drinking water. You cannot go in and out freely for health reasons, but you can tour if you apply in advance. The scenery around the water purification plant has been improved, and you can enjoy the passage of cherry blossoms in some areas along the Hankyu Kyoto Line.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 場外から施設の東側を見ましたが、浄水場内のタンクは、浄化処理用の薬液、「硫酸ばんど」や「かせいソーダ」が入っているようです。
「バンド」、「苛性」を大きなひらがなで表記していて、面白いです。
硫酸それ自体は、外から見えるこれら白いタンクには入っていない模様。
東側の現龍大神神社の祀碑の基部に、「柴島浄水場一同」と彫られていました。神社建立に関係したのかもしれません。
Looking at the east side of the facility from the outside, it seems that the tank inside the water purification plant contains chemicals for purification treatment, "sulfuric acid band" and "caustic soda".
"Band" and "caustic" are written in large hiragana, which is interesting.
Sulfuric acid itself does not appear to be in these white tanks that can be seen from the outside.
At the base of the monument of the current Ryu Oomiwa Shrine on the east side, "All Shibashima Water Purification Plants" was engraved. It may have been related to the construction of the shrine.
