2017年では17：30から歩行者規制がかかりました。
18：00-20：00の間は祭り囃子などが
20：00-からようやく屋台の登場です。22：00時まで断続的に6基登場します。
また18：00-22：00頃まで花火も上がります。
23：00頃から広場が開放され、屋台に近づくことが出来ます。
12月の夜なので冷え込みが激しいです。22：00の時点で2℃でしたので防寒対策が必須です。

Festival music is held between 18:00 and 20:00

妙見信仰は北斗七星、北極星にまつわるもので、北を守護する玄武(亀と蛇)となります。石像もこれに由来すると思われます。
仏教、神道と異なり、道教の性格が色濃く反映しますが、秩父夜祭りの場合、古くからの山岳信仰と融合した向きがあります。秩父神社は里宮、武甲山は山全体が信仰の対象、いわゆる神奈備山です。
妙見信仰がいつ頃、導入されたかは判明しませんが、中世の千葉氏などの妙見信仰と同時期かもしれません。今の石像は代替り後のものですが、地域の歴史を考えるときに重要な場所です。

It is not known when Myouzoku faith was introduced, but it may be the same time as Myouzoku faith such as medieval Mr. Chiba. Today's stone statue is a substitute, but it is an important place when considering the history of the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 秩父神社大祭の神幸祭は御旅所を中心に行われます。秩父祭で屋台が曳きそろえられるのもこの御旅所ですが、普段はなんでもない駐車場の空間にあります(笑)。亀の子石が素敵です。
