この神社の名前、熊手八幡宮と珍しいです。古の頃、神功皇后が三韓征伐の帰途、風雨の難を逃れてこの地に避難した。風雨がおさまり出発に際し旗の代わりに熊手(武器)を止め置かれました。村人達はこれを祀り熊手八幡宮と呼ぶように成ったようです。
道隆寺温故記によると延久五年(1073年)白方八幡宮の荒廃著しく再建したとある。その後も何度かの修理、改築等々を繰り返し現在に至ります。
祭神 応神天皇 神功皇后、比売神
随神門に大変珍しい木製の狛犬が収められています。多度津町の重要文化財に指定されています。
It is a historical company with a vast sanctuary on the south side of the Higashishirakata coast.
The name of this shrine is Kumade Hachimangu, which is unusual. In ancient times, Empress Jingu escaped from the wind and rain on his way home from the Sankan subjugation and evacuated to this area. When the wind and rain subsided, the rake (weapon) was stopped instead of the flag. It seems that the villagers worshiped this and called it Kumadehachimangu.
According to the memoirs of Doryuji Temple, the devastation of Hachimangu Shrine was remarkably rebuilt in the 5th year of Enkyu (1073). After that, it has been repaired and remodeled several times until now.
Emperor Ojin, Empress Jingu, Himegami
A very rare wooden guardian dog is housed in the Zuijinmon gate. It is designated as an important cultural property of Tadotsu Town.

2012年のバイクツーリングで立ち寄りました。正直なところこの神社の謂れなどはさっぱり分かりません。ただ、この神社の雰囲気や佇まいが好きて立ち寄りました。いい感じの神社でした。

I stopped by for a bike touring in 2012. To be honest, I have no idea what this shrine is called. However, I stopped by because I liked the atmosphere and appearance of this shrine. It was a nice shrine.
