★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この公園に古い道標が立っているのだが、かつての中山道の道標である。往時は現在の土手の斜面あたりに立っており、「左 松山道 / 右 熊谷道」と刻まれている。「右 熊谷道」が中山道、「左 松山道」が久下の渡し場で荒川を越えて、途中で千人同心街道に合流して、東松山を経て八王子に向かう道である。
There is an old signpost in this park, but it is a signpost of the old Nakasendo. In the past, it stands on the slope of the current bank and is marked as "Left Matsuyama Road / Right Kumagaya Road." The "Right Kumagaya Road" is the Nakasendo Road, and the "Left Matsuyama Road" is the road crossing the Arakawa River at Kuge's crossing point, joining the Sennin Concentric Road along the way and heading to Hachioji via Higashimatsuyama.
