The old place names of Asahi-cho and Motoyama-cho Kotohira came from this enshrined place. Also, in the first year of culture, it was listed as a shrine shrine, and in the same year, a pair of white lanterns with the coat of arms of the feudal lord was donated. In 5 years, it became a village shrine, and in 6 years Honmachi changed to a shrine system and became an unqualified shrine. It is said that the god face that became the god body is "wooden face" and is the work of the master craftsman "Kasuga".

It is enshrined in the center of Tsuchizaki Port, Akita City. The shrine is not very large, but there are shrines such as Hanyuyama Shrine, Inari Shrine (three), and Kurishima Shrine. We worship the great lord, Emperor Sotoku as a god of religion.

The guardian dog is a tangible cultural property designated by the prefecture. The precincts are Inari, Mishima, Kurishima and Sugawara. Previously, there were also Yakushi, Satahiko, Itsukushima, and Ryujin shrines.
