★ ★ ★ ★ ★ かって現在の山梨市牧丘町西保赤芝より太良ヶ峠を越え古府中躑躅ケ崎の武田館に至る街道が「秩父裏街道」と呼ばれ、「秩父往還の闇道」として武田信玄の時代には軍事上の秘密道路とされていた。その道の鞍部となる部分が「古峠」である。
武田氏滅亡後も、牧丘町西保地域と甲府を結ぶ交易路として使われたが、昭和以降は周辺交通網が整備されて、山越えを要する赤芝から切差の間は街道の役割を終え、現在は東山中部林道の一部として整備されているが、人や車の往来は極めて少ない。
The road leading from the present-day Nishinashi Akashiba, Makioka-cho, Yamanashi City, across the Taraga Pass to the Takeda-kan in Kofu-Kusaki-Kegasaki is called the Chichibu Ura Kaido, and in the days of Shingen Takeda as the "dark road of Chichibu's return". It was considered a military secret road. The saddle part of the road is the "Furutoge".
Even after the death of Takeda, it was used as a trade route connecting the Makioka-cho Nishiho area and Kofu, but after Showa, the surrounding transportation network was established, and the role of the highway was completed between Akashiba, which requires mountain crossing, and the gap. It is currently maintained as part of the Higashiyama Chubu Forest Road, but there are very few people and vehicles coming and going.
