詳細は覚えていないが、かつては山の上に立っていたらしい。
伊達政宗、二代忠宗の地方巡視の際に宿として使われるために山の麓に移築したらしいです。
昔のまま山の上にあれば311で流れなかったのに…
現在でも山の上に建っている不動堂は千葉県の成田山から勧請された不動明王・両童子が祭られています。
震災の時は被災者が屋根のある場所として避難していたらしい。
