12年ぶり(2009年当時の写真あり)です。昭和43(1968)年4月25日に市原市の文化財(天然記念物)に指定された『熊野神社の大銀杏』は、熊野神社境内にあり、幹の太さが根廻り7.8ｍ、目通り幹囲8.8ｍ、樹高20ｍ余りの古木です。案内板に、『地上3メートル程のところから幹が5本に分かれており、分岐した幹はすべて1メートル内外の太さである。』と書いてあるため、指定当時は幹が5本とも健在だったと思われますが、現在目視で目立つ幹は2本だけ、3本は失われてしまったものと思われます。東側からのアクセス路は狭すぎる(サイドミラーを格納しないと通れない＋崖があり危険)ため、西側(本宮寺)からのアクセスを推奨します。神社前に十分な駐車スペースあります。

This is the first time in 12 years (with photos from 2009). "The Great Ginkgo of Kumano Shrine", which was designated as a cultural property (natural monument) of Ichihara City on April 25, 1968, is located in the precincts of Kumano Shrine, and the thickness of the trunk is 7.8 m around the root. As you can see, it is an old tree with a trunk circumference of 8.8m and a tree height of about 20m. On the information board, "The trunk is divided into five from about 3 meters above the ground, and all the branched trunks are 1 meter inside and outside. It seems that all five trunks were alive at the time of designation, but now only two trunks are visually noticeable and three trunks have been lost. The access road from the east side is too narrow (it is dangerous if you do not store the side mirrors + there is a cliff), so access from the west side (Honmiya Temple) is recommended. There is ample parking space in front of the shrine.
