Totemo ii desuyo! ..ichiban daisuki. Ten stars! Very eclectic!
Since 1989 and my first visit to Japan this cozy little pub and grill has served the finest lovingly prepared dishes (especially shabu-shabu, individually seared rib sticks and fugu) on the planet. All served with happiness by the wonderfully-polarized team of Chef Katsu and Madame Yumiko, along with the colorful cast of the neighborhood's who's whos.
The team's owners each set the mood for either a quiet corner or bombastic laugh, and every mood inbetween.
The atmosphere is cozy and robust, frequented by every iconic neighborhood character you can imagine (the butcher, the baker, etc), all toasting the days hard work away for a little while each evening...very eclectic!
Mo chomboshi Yumiko and Katsu, mo chomboshi!
