この由来は、最近郷土史家が表面の辞世の句を解読し判明した。
畑権助は「桜田門外の変」の時怖くなり逃げて、当寺で出家し3年後にこの碑を建てる。
本堂の前にあり、何故か上部は左下がりに割れている。
川崎市域文化財指定。
 Hikone Domain Hermit (75) Monument of the death poem of Gonsuke Hata
The origin of this was recently discovered by a local historian who deciphered the phrase of death poem on the surface.
Gonsuke Hata became scared at the time of "Sakuradamon Incident" and ran away, and built this monument three years after he left the temple.
It is in front of the main hall, and for some reason the upper part is split to the left.
Designated as a cultural property of Kawasaki City.

歴史を感じます。
チェーンソーで大木の枝が落とされていました、樹齢数百年かという樹です。
当時の人々はこの樹を観て、何を思っていたんだろうか。
興味をおぼえます。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 天神社から枡形山登り口に行く途中にありますが、そのルートからはちょっと寄り道になるので、いつも通り過ぎていました。
たまたま、のんびりとあたりを散策する機会があったので、寄り道したところ、由緒のあるお寺だと、初めて知りました。
川崎市教育委員会HPの「広福寺」の項によると、
「広福寺の寺地は、源頼朝の有力御家人の一人であった稲毛三郎重成の館跡ともいわれており、本堂内には木造稲毛重成坐像（桃山時代作）が祀られているほか、観音堂の裏には重成の墓といわれている五輪塔が伝えられています。」
稲毛三郎重成は武蔵国稲毛荘の荘園主で、奥さんは、頼朝の正室だった北条政子の妹です。
It is on the way from Tenjin Shrine to the Masugatayama climbing entrance, but it was a little detour from that route, so it always passed.
I happened to take a leisurely stroll around the area, so when I dropped off, I first knew it was a venerable temple.
According to “Kofukuji” section of Kawasaki City Board of Education,
"The temple grounds of Kofuku-ji are said to be the site of Saburo Inage Shigenari, one of the leading patrons of Gen Yoritomo, and a wooden statue of Inage Shigenari (Momoyama period) is enshrined inside the main hall. In addition, behind the Kannon-do, there is an Olympic tower known as Shigenari's tomb. "
Saburo Inage Shigenari is the manor of Musashikoku Inage-so, and his wife is Masako Hojo's younger sister, Yoritomo's regular room.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 本殿までの道には、針金で柵がされてあり少し目障りだが、さすがに由緒あるお寺だけあり、佇まいが昔ながらのお寺らしい落ち着く所。
The road to the main shrine is fenced with wire and is a little obtrusive, but there is only a historical temple, and the appearance is a calm place like an old-fashioned temple.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 広福寺は枡形城址の北側のふもとにある寺院で、枡形城を築城した稲毛三郎重成の館跡ともいわれており、広福寺の門には「稲毛領主菩提寺 稲毛館跡」と書かれた扁額が懸けられています。
また、本堂内には木造稲毛重成坐像（桃山時代作）が祀られている他、観音堂の裏には稲毛三郎重成の墓といわれている五輪塔が伝えられています。
