Y	Yuta Yokoi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 五条川を遡上すると，大口町内にある荒井の樋門で木津用水路に着きますが，そこから用水路沿いに犬山市内を北上すると，ここ犬山頭首工にたどり着きます。この頭首工では，巨大な堰が木曽川の豊富な水をせき止めて，左岸（愛知県側）の宮田用水・木津用水，右岸（岐阜県側）の羽島用水に水を送っています。ここで取水された水は，３つの用水から枝分かれする用水路によって濃尾平野の隅々にまで運ばれていきます。大きな堰にせき止められた水量が勢いよく流れ出る様はなかなかの迫力があります。今となっては昔のことですが，濃尾平野は４００年近い歳月をかけて木曽川の治水事業と熱田以南の干拓事業を行うことで発展してきた歴史を持っているようです。このうち治水の歴史については，愛知の川名編集委員会による「川名が語るふるさとの歴史　愛知の川名　木曽川水系【宮田用水・木津用水】」に充実した解説があります。 If you go up the Gojo River, you will reach the Kizu irrigation canal at Arai's gutter in Oguchi town, but if you head north in Inuyama city along the irrigation canal, you will arrive at Inuyama head work here. In this head work, a huge weir blocks the abundant water of the Kiso River, and sends water to Miyata water and Kizu water on the left bank (Aichi prefecture side) and Hashima water on the right bank (Gifu prefecture side). The water taken here will be carried to every corner of the Nobi Plain by irrigation channels that branch from the three water sources. It is quite powerful as the amount of water dammed by a large weir flows out vigorously. It is a long time ago, but it seems that the Nobi Plain has a history of developing over 400 years by conducting flood control projects on the Kiso River and reclamation projects south of Atsuta. Of these, the history of flood control is fully described in the Aichi Kawana Editorial Committee's "History with Kawana's Hometown: Aichi's Kawana Kiso River Water System [Miyata Water/Kizu Water]".
