★ ★ ★ ★ ★ こちらは、明治43年(1910年)群馬県内初の浄水場として完成し、現在でも稼働しています。
この浄水場の凄いところは「緩速濾過方式」というものだそうです。
ほとんどの浄水場は、濾過時間を短縮させるため、凝集剤を投入し、数時間で濾過を行う「急速濾過方式」を採っています。
しかし、こちらは薬品を使わず、原水を何層もの砂利層の間を、ゆったりとした速度(二十時間)で濾過しています。
これにより、砂層表面と砂層に増殖した微生物によって、水中の細かいゴミや溶け込んでいる不純物を分解させ、きれいな水にしています。
現代では「美味しい水」が売られていますが、この方式だと水は格段に美味しくなるとのことです。
地元の方々は、この美味しい水を「剣崎正宗」とか「鉄管ビール」と呼んで愛飲されているそうですよ(^_^)v
前橋の水も美味しさでは定評があります。ぜひ一度、飲み比べてみたいものです(^_^ゞ
