★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 通町熊野神社が、現在地(通町1丁目3-16)に遷座される前に鎮座していた古社地のようです。仙台鹿の子が記された元禄8年(1695年)頃には、当地に荒巻権現(荒巻村の総鎮守)として存在していたようです。また、封内風土記が完成した明和9年(1772年)には、すでに玄光庵内の現在地(通町1丁目3-16)に遷座されている模様です。
