小	小川徹 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 涸沼駅と並んでモダンな造りの駅舎。関東百選の駅にもノミネートされています。地方交通線の駅舎にしてはかなりオシャレな造りで鹿島臨鉄本社を構える大洗駅よりも洗練された景観を持つ駅ですが、何故か階段と待合い室しかない不可思議な駅舎です。これだけの美しい景観を持つ駅舎なら役所や保育所・公民館・図書館等の公的機能を持たせた方が鉄道沿線の活性化が望めるかもしれないだけにとても勿体ないです。ここの駅も列車が交差出来る1面2線のホームを持つ駅でプラットホーム上の待合い室も扉付きで雨風・寒さも凌げます。西口は広い駐車場を備え、大きなバスも楽に入れますし、臨鉄線の中では珍しくバリアフリー♿対応のトイレ?があります。東口は何も有りませんが、すぐ近くに駐在所があります。ここの駅は西口の県道242号線(鉾田鹿島線)でウエルシア薬局鹿島大野店を目標にして探すと分かり易いです。 Modern station building along Suganuma Station.
