Contents of the information board ● Hirokata / Tagore Peace Park KAMPÔ & TAGORE PEACE PARK কাম্পো-রবীন্দ্র শাস্তি পার্ক Hirokata Arai (1878 ~ 1945) was born here and set out to become a Japanese painter. Hirokata, who aspired to be a Buddhist painting, was treated by the Indian poetry St. Tagore, who won the Nobel Literature Award for the first time in Sankei Hara and Asia, and passed on to India as a professor of Japanese painting. During that time, he achieved the business of copying Ajanta mural paintings, interacted with many people, and became a bridge for cultural exchange between Japan and India. The friendship with Tagore has continued since then, and now in India, the awe of Hiroshi and Tagore is deepening. Hirokata, who was called "Kankata of Buddhist paintings," was also engaged in copying the mural paintings of the Kondo of Horyuji Temple in his later years. He died suddenly just before the completion, but his achievements are still shining brightly. The enormous amount of materials and relics left by Hirokata and this place were taken over by the deceased son Hidero and his grandson Seiya, and the Hirokata commendation was given to him. Mrs. Hideo's wife, Namiko, and her son, Takashi, kept their wishes and donated them to Ujiiemachi. Ujiie-cho respected this intention, remembered the great achievements of Hirokata and Tagore, and made this place a park to commemorate the friendship between the two forever.
