★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この大馬渡峠は、江戸期 中馬街道の脇街道として、信州根羽から分岐し明智、瀬戸を通り名古屋に続く街道の3大難所だったそうです。
確かにこの中馬観世音碑のある場所は、林道が交差する地点にあり、西へ向かう山路は薄暗く冬は凍結し雪が溶けにくい難所で、去年この街道の通行を断念したことがあります。
峠といってもさほど高くなく景色が開けてるわけでもないですが、道は狭く昔の街道を舗装しただけの雰囲気があり、往時の物流は馬が主流だったのでこの峠で命を落とした馬も多かったのでしょう。
This Omawatari Pass is said to have been one of the three major obstacles of the road that branches off from Shinshu Neba and continues to Nagoya through Akechi and Seto as a side road of the Nakama Highway during the Edo period.
Certainly, the place where this Nakama Kanzeon monument is located is at the intersection of forest roads, and the mountain road to the west is dim and it freezes in winter, making it difficult for snow to melt.
Although the pass is not so high and the scenery is not open, the road is narrow and has the atmosphere of paving the old highway, and horses were the mainstream of logistics in the past, so I died at this pass. There must have been many horses.
